Middle School Night Volunteers

We are looking for several parent and student volunteers for the Valley View Middle School Night event. This event allows 4th and 5th grade students and families to learn about and explore the school.

We are specifically looking for:

  • Two shifts of people - 5pm-6:15pm & 6:15pm-7:30pm
  • Approximately 20 parents/caregivers per shift
  • One slot for 3 people each to hand out treats in the atrium

Some people will be in the hallways to direct people. A clipboard with all the necessary information, such as maps, and schedules, will be provided.

Help make our event a success and sign up to volunteer!

There are a number of Food Resources available and ready to serve families. All the programs are no barrier and you don’t need to live in a certain community to be served, all are welcome!

Additional food programs are available and all the programs listed are near Edina.

Thanksgiving Meal Baskets

Edina Rotary Clubs are offering a limited number of Thanksgiving Baskets to families in Edina or who attend Edina Public Schools. The meal will be fully cooked and delivered to the family home. Someone must be home on Wed. Nov. 26 between 12-3pm to receive the basket.

If you could benefit from this generous donation, please complete the Request Form to be entered into the lottery.

Requests must be received by 4pm on November 10

VVMS VEAP Food Drive

The VVMS Service Squad SLT is sponsoring a school-wide food drive. Our goal is to collect over 5,000 items to donate. Please have your student(s) bring food items to their advisory class. We will collect items starting on Nov. 3 and ending on Nov. 17. Service Squad members will box up and deliver the items on Nov. 17 to the VEAP food shelf.

For the most needed items, please check VEAP's website.

Thank you for your support!

Volunteer at Valley View!
Lunch and Hall Monitors

Come experience the Valley View VIBE and make a difference in students' lives!

We love having our VVMS parents volunteer during passing times and at lunch! It is a great way to experience the school and make a positive difference in the lives of Valley View students!

We are offering work spaces for those who want to come during our passing time. This allows our parents to supervise halls during transition time but then hop back into an office to work. We're happy to accommodate!

For reference, here is the VV Daily Schedule.

Thank you!!

Working with middle school requires the right temperament. We mostly just need you to be smiley, and cheerful. We avoid practices that involve screaming or yelling. We prefer softer approaches that are kind but firm. Individuals volunteering are able to suspend bias and judgment and can offer support for all students. If you think this is you? Please help us in adding a greater eco-system like approach to how we guide and shepherd our young Hornets.

Parking for Parent Visitors

Parents and caregivers, if you are visiting Valley View please check in at the front desk and a clipboard will be provided for you to enter your vehicle information. This will prevent any boots or ticketing.

Thank You!
