Become a PTO BOOSTER

Ask your employer about matching your contributions! Some companies offer to match gifts such as PTO Booster or PTO contributions as an employee benefit. Contact your HR representative to learn if your workplace has a matching program available.

Volunteer at Valley View!

We would love to see you in the hallways or lunchroom at Valley View! Come see what the Valley View Vibe is all about and make a positive difference in our students' day!

Drop in for a passing period or reserve a work space and stay longer!

VVMS Clubs

VVMS Clubs are in full swing! Here are a few snapshots from dance club and Lego club, which are just a few of the clubs offered.

Media Arts Cyanotype Printing

Media art students in 6th grade learned cyanotype printing during the recent sunny weather. This photography processing technique was new to most students and their prints turned out amazing!

Special Band Visitor

Scott Rush, renowned band educator and author of the Habits of a Successful Musician series (the very method books our students use), visited our bands earlier this month! Flying in from his home state of South Carolina, Mr. Rush worked with both students and teachers across the district.

Widely regarded as a national leader in band curriculum and instruction, he is partnering with Edina bands in a three-year professional growth cycle.

His time here provides an incredible benefit—offering our students direct guidance from a master teacher and giving our educators new tools to strengthen our program!

Unified Outing

The VVMS Unified group had their first community outing to the Edina Fire Station on Sept. 26th.

6th Grade Field Trip

Here are some moments captured on the recent 6th grade field trip to Fort Snelling. Students learned about various aspects of life on the Fort during the 1800s such as: a school day for the Forts children, shopping in the general store, and medical care.

8th Grade Field Trips

There are two 8th grade fields planned for this school year.

Buck Hill: Snow Tubing OR Skiing/Snowboarding Thursday, Jan. 15th

  • Last day of the semester

  • Full-day field trip

  • Choose: Snow Tubing OR Skiing/Snowboarding

  • You can bring your own equipment

  • Day pass includes: Equipment rental, lift ticket, and a lesson

Valleyfair: Friday, May 29th

  • Last day of the year

  • Full-day field trip

  • Rides, waterpark, and food!

Be On the Lookout!

A permission slip was emailed home by advisors! It is a Google Form, no paper slips. There are a lot of details! Make sure you and your student read it carefully

Payment should be made in Infinite Campus for both field trips. Have your student talk to their friends and family as they are expected to commit to their plans. Tickets are nonrefundable once purchased.

If you have questions or concerns, please talk to your student's advisory teacher.

Unity Day

The official 2025 Unity Day t-shirt is here!

Join millions nationwide who will #WearOrange on Unity Day to show that no child should ever experience bullying. This year’s signature orange t-shirt is more than apparel – it’s a powerful statement of kindness, acceptance, and inclusion.

Place an order today for yourself, your family, and your friends, and come together to promote #UnityEveryDay. Your purchase will support the National Bullying Prevention Center in providing free resources and curriculum for students, families, educators, and community leaders all year long.

Read the featured book of National Bullying Prevention Month

We are excited to highlight Henri and the Magnificent Snort as the featured book of National Bullying Prevention Month! This award-winning children’s book by Samantha Childs was inspired by her own experiences with bullying and beautifully captures the spirit of #UnityEveryDay and inclusion.

Order your copy on Amazon and share Henri’s inspiring story with your family. From now through October 31, 2025, 100% of the author’s profits will be donated to PACER’s National Bullying Prevention Center, making every purchase a gift that gives back! It is also available in Spanish

To celebrate National Bullying Prevention Month and Unity Day, we are also offering an exclusive audio/video Read-Along with the author. Available on our website during October, this NBPC Book Club special feature is a meaningful way to engage elementary students in conversations about friendship, respect, and celebrating differences.

Volunteer at Valley View!
Lunch and Hall Monitors

Come experience the Valley View VIBE and make a difference in students' lives!

We love having our VVMS parents volunteer during passing times and at lunch! It is a great way to experience the school and make a positive difference in the lives of Valley View students!

We are offering work spaces for those who want to come during our passing time. This allows our parents to supervise halls during transition time but then hop back into an office to work. We're happy to accommodate!

For reference, here is the VV Daily Schedule.

Thank you!!

Working with middle school requires the right temperament. We mostly just need you to be smiley, and cheerful. We avoid practices that involve screaming or yelling. We prefer softer approaches that are kind but firm. Individuals volunteering are able to suspend bias and judgment and can offer support for all students. If you think this is you? Please help us in adding a greater eco-system like approach to how we guide and shepherd our young Hornets.

Parking for Parent Visitors

Parents and caregivers, if you are visiting Valley View please check in at the front desk and a clipboard will be provided for you to enter your vehicle information. This will prevent any boots or ticketing.

Thank You!
