2025-2026 PTO Family Contributions

The VVMS PTO does not hold any other fundraisers throughout the year, this is your chance to support our school!

PTO Family Contributions are $75 per family and they grant you access to the school directory and help provide much needed funding to support programs, teachers, and staff at our school.

What are Family Contributions used for?

  • They support student programs
  • They help us show appreciation to our teachers and staff
  • They are the only source of funding for the PTO (that’s right, nothing to sell or additional fundraisers throughout the year!)

** If you require a SCHOLARSHIP please enter code CONTRIBUTIONS2025 at checkout **

Thank you for your support!

Volunteer at Valley View!

We would love to see you in the hallways or lunchroom at Valley View! Come see what the Valley View Vibe is all about and make a positive difference in our students' day! Drop in for a passing period or reserve a work space and stay longer!

Special Person's Day is Coming!

Planning to bring a special person? Please RSVP HERE by Sunday, September 28th so we can prepare!

Your child is invited to share the Valley View VIBE with a special adult in their life (18 or older) — this could be a grandparent, parent, caregiver, aunt, uncle, neighbor, or another meaningful adult. 💛

To make the experience rich and enjoyable for everyone, we kindly ask that each student bring only one guest. Our auditorium space and shared parking with Edina High School are limited, so thank you for helping us make this day smooth for all. (More information about parking and arrival will come soon.)

Heart Languages

What is a Heart Language?

A heart language is often the first language and the language someone speaks at home. It is the language that is most emotional and spiritual for a person.

A Heart language is the language that a person uses to think, dream, and express their most private emotions. It is the language that identifies their cultural and geographic identity.

Students of Valley View Middle School come to school with a variety of heart languages.

Library Council Kick-off!

We are super excited that 87 students in grades 6-8 attended the Library Council Kick-off this past Wednesday! The Library Council is a group of people committed to making our VVMS Library the VERY BEST! If your child missed the kick-off, have them come talk to us in the Media Center—ALL are welcome!

If you are an adult who would like to help us out on Wednesday mornings during Flex time, let Angie Endo know! We'd love to have extra adults involved! (angie.endo@edinaschools.org)

VVVMS Career Exploration

This year, we will continue the Career Exploration program in collaboration with Community Education, VVMS Library Council, and community members (like you!)

We are looking for volunteer speakers who are passionate about their careers or hobbies/interests for the 20 in 20 series. Here are some reasons to get excited about this program and to share your knowledge:

Why Middle School?

  • It is a critical time for forming identities and interests.
  • Early exposure plants seeds that will grow through middle school and beyond.

Moving Beyond Traditional Career Exploration

  • Career exploration isn’t just about jobs—it’s about passions, curiosity, and discovering personal strengths.
  • Encouraging students to ask “What if?”, “Why not?” and “How?” help them stay open to exploration.

20 in 20

  • 20 in 20 provides a preview to a variety of career fields and interests in just 20 minutes.
  • It breaks down barriers by giving students quick, meaningful exposures to different fields with diverse role models and activities.
  • It’s designed to spark ideas—not provide all the answers at once.

To volunteer as a speaker, please fill out an interest form. To learn more about this program or ask additional questions, contact Alan Hendrickson at: Alan.Hendrickson@edinaschool.org.

Unity Day

The official 2025 Unity Day t-shirt is here!

Join millions nationwide who will #WearOrange on Unity Day to show that no child should ever experience bullying. This year’s signature orange t-shirt is more than apparel – it’s a powerful statement of kindness, acceptance, and inclusion.

Place an order today for yourself, your family, and your friends, and come together to promote #UnityEveryDay. Your purchase will support the National Bullying Prevention Center in providing free resources and curriculum for students, families, educators, and community leaders all year long.

Read the featured book of National Bullying Prevention Month

We are excited to highlight Henri and the Magnificent Snort as the featured book of National Bullying Prevention Month! This award-winning children’s book by Samantha Childs was inspired by her own experiences with bullying and beautifully captures the spirit of #UnityEveryDay and inclusion.

Order your copy on Amazon and share Henri’s inspiring story with your family. From now through October 31, 2025, 100% of the author’s profits will be donated to PACER’s National Bullying Prevention Center, making every purchase a gift that gives back! It is also available in Spanish

To celebrate National Bullying Prevention Month and Unity Day, we are also offering an exclusive audio/video Read-Along with the author. Available on our website during October, this NBPC Book Club special feature is a meaningful way to engage elementary students in conversations about friendship, respect, and celebrating differences.

Volunteer at Valley View!
Lunch and Hall Monitors

Come experience the Valley View VIBE and make a difference in students' lives!

We love having our VVMS parents volunteer during passing times and at lunch! It is a great way to experience the school and make a positive difference in the lives of Valley View students!

We are offering work spaces for those who want to come during our passing time. This allows our parents to supervise halls during transition time but then hop back into an office to work. We're happy to accommodate!

For reference, here is the VV Daily Schedule.

Thank you!!

Working with middle school requires the right temperament. We mostly just need you to be smiley, and cheerful. We avoid practices that involve screaming or yelling. We prefer softer approaches that are kind but firm. Individuals volunteering are able to suspend bias and judgment and can offer support for all students. If you think this is you? Please help us in adding a greater eco-system like approach to how we guide and shepherd our young Hornets.

Parking for Parent Visitors

Parents and caregivers, if you are visiting Valley View please check in at the front desk and a clipboard will be provided for you to enter your vehicle information. This will prevent any boots or ticketing.

Give our teachers some much needed fuel throughout the day! Donate to the Teacher's Lounge coffee bar HERE.

Thank you!!!
