Volunteer at Valley View!

We would love to see you in the hallways or lunchroom at Valley View! Come see what the Valley View Vibe is all about and make a positive difference in our students' day!

Drop in for a passing period or reserve a work space and stay longer!

FCA Huddle

The first FCA huddle of the school year took place on October 3rd. What a great turn out with so many awesome students!

Science 7 - Cheek Cell Microscope Lab

Students in 7th grade science are learning about similarities and differences between plant and animal cells. Along with learning how to use a microscope, they are improving their skills at drawing their observations. They even learned how to make a wet mount slide using Lugol’s Iodine stain to see the organelles in onion cells and their very own cheek cells!

You should’ve seen their faces when they realized they were looking at cells from their VERY OWN BODY!

Wing Young Huie Workshop

From September 29-October 8, 8th graders participated in a social studies workshop led by artist and photographer Wing Young Huie. Students explored what a picture can reveal about its subject as well as its photographer. They learned how Mr. Huie works with his subjects to compose a photograph that reveals a story and captures a sense of personal and community identity.

They will photograph themselves and another person and tell their photographs’ “stories” in a project called “Perspectives/Duality: Who Are We?”

Spanish 6

6th grade Spanish learners are playing an alphabet board game to practice the letter sounds!

6th Grade Seedlings

6th graders read the book Seedfolk by Paul Fleischman and planted their very own seedlings.

VVMS Walking Club

The Walking Club made a journey to a nearby playground.

Henna Club

Students in the Henna club had a great experience every Friday. There were lots of smiles, new friends, old friends, and we had an opportunity to share with our Special People!

Team St. Croix Shout Outs

September team St. Croix students who received Above and Beyond Shout Outs!

Team Itasca Shout Outs

6th Grade students from Team Itasca also received Above and Beyond Shout outs!

Unity Day

The official 2025 Unity Day t-shirt is here!

Join millions nationwide who will #WearOrange on Unity Day to show that no child should ever experience bullying. This year’s signature orange t-shirt is more than apparel – it’s a powerful statement of kindness, acceptance, and inclusion.

Place an order today for yourself, your family, and your friends, and come together to promote #UnityEveryDay. Your purchase will support the National Bullying Prevention Center in providing free resources and curriculum for students, families, educators, and community leaders all year long.

Read the featured book of National Bullying Prevention Month

We are excited to highlight Henri and the Magnificent Snort as the featured book of National Bullying Prevention Month! This award-winning children’s book by Samantha Childs was inspired by her own experiences with bullying and beautifully captures the spirit of #UnityEveryDay and inclusion.

Order your copy on Amazon and share Henri’s inspiring story with your family. From now through October 31, 2025, 100% of the author’s profits will be donated to PACER’s National Bullying Prevention Center, making every purchase a gift that gives back! It is also available in Spanish

To celebrate National Bullying Prevention Month and Unity Day, we are also offering an exclusive audio/video Read-Along with the author. Available on our website during October, this NBPC Book Club special feature is a meaningful way to engage elementary students in conversations about friendship, respect, and celebrating differences.

Volunteer at Valley View!
Lunch and Hall Monitors

Come experience the Valley View VIBE and make a difference in students' lives!

We love having our VVMS parents volunteer during passing times and at lunch! It is a great way to experience the school and make a positive difference in the lives of Valley View students!

We are offering work spaces for those who want to come during our passing time. This allows our parents to supervise halls during transition time but then hop back into an office to work. We're happy to accommodate!

For reference, here is the VV Daily Schedule.

Thank you!!

Working with middle school requires the right temperament. We mostly just need you to be smiley, and cheerful. We avoid practices that involve screaming or yelling. We prefer softer approaches that are kind but firm. Individuals volunteering are able to suspend bias and judgment and can offer support for all students. If you think this is you? Please help us in adding a greater eco-system like approach to how we guide and shepherd our young Hornets.

Parking for Parent Visitors

Parents and caregivers, if you are visiting Valley View please check in at the front desk and a clipboard will be provided for you to enter your vehicle information. This will prevent any boots or ticketing.

Thank You!
