8th Grade Cupcake Wars

8th graders in Food & Fabrics participated in cupcake wars this week. They worked in groups to come up with a plan of how they would flavor & decorate their cupcakes. Students were provided with the basics to make cupcakes & frosting and they used their creative skills to turn their cupcakes into delicious works of art!

Fall Fest 2024

Fall Fest was created and planned by three SLT Unified Ambassadors, Idris Baxamusa, Aarya Swammi, and Ridwan Mohamoud. The Unified PE and site-based rooms from the high school attended as well as VV’s Unified Advisory, Unified PE, Bridge, and Strive classrooms. VV's culture crew SLT created the signs and hung backdrops for the photo area. VV’s service squad volunteered to clean up the tables, chairs, and sweep the floors (they did have some cotton candy)

We had Inside Out 2 as a movie choice, dancing, pictures, and a quieter space for coloring, eating popcorn, and water. Everyone lined up in anticipation of the cotton candy, which by far was everyone’s favorite. Thanks to our PTO President, Erika LaDousa, for ordering that!

The high schoolers commented that they had a great time, loved all of the options, and it was fun to see friends and teachers.

Lost & Found

Make sure to stop at the lost and found table during conferences!

Do you have a 4th or 5th grader? Join us for Middle School Nights!

During these events we will share information about middle school for 4th-5th graders and their caregivers.

You will hear from middle school administrators and staff, learn about the middle school experience at a student/parent panel, and tour the building. Students will also get to attend their first middle school rally.

This night is part information/part fun. We hope this event will get families and students informed and excited about what is to come at South View and Valley View!

Volunteer Opportunities
Lunch and Hall Monitors

Come see what the fuss is all about, our kids are great and you make a difference!

We loved having our VVMS parents volunteer during passing times and at lunch last year! Please, please please, keep coming in and volunteering to supervise.

We are offering work spaces for those who want to come during our passing time. This allows our parents to supervise halls during transition time but then hop back into an office to work. We're happy to accommodate!

Working with middle school requires the right temperament. We mostly just need you to be smiley, and cheerful. We avoid practices that involve screaming or yelling. We prefer softer approaches that are kind but firm. Individuals volunteering are able to suspend bias and judgment and can offer support for all students. If you think this is you? Please help us in adding a greater eco-system like approach to how we guide and shepherd our young Hornets.

Parking for Parent Visitors

Parents and caregivers, if you are visiting Valley View please check in at the front desk and a clipboard will be provided for you to enter your vehicle information. This will prevent any boots or ticketing.

Thank You!
