6th Grade Scholars

This is 6th grade and the teams that recognize and celebrate awesome scholars. They lift up our VVMS Vibe! Pictured below is one of their monthly assemblies.

Big Rob Visits VV

One of our favorite DJs, Big Rob, stopped by to say hello to our amazing admin assistant, Sue Cucchiarella! DJ Big Rob is a St. Olaf Alum, and St. Olaf College had a big homecoming game on 10/5.

In addition to the game, St. Olaf launched a grand opening of a barber shop on campus. This may not seem earth shattering, but as an ’05 grad, I can only tell you how challenging it was to stay groomed when you have a different texture of hair than most of the campus. My friends and I, often caught a bus (Northfield Lines) to the cities to patron BIPOC barbers that knew how to get us looking fresh.  It was a full day’s ordeal that took planning, money, and determination to see it through because of what it meant to lose a day of studies, activities, etc. I am thrilled that the next wave of students that go to Olaf, will be able to walk right over to the commons to get a crisp fade.

Library Media Center Donations

The VVMS Library Media Center loves to receive book donations to help make our library the very best library it can be for our VV kiddos!

Some requests from students:

  • Authors: Alan Gratz, Jenny Han, Stuart Gibbs, Judy Blume
  • Series: The Inheritance Games, Spy School, The School for Good and Evil, Unwanteds Quests

Volunteer Opportunities
Lunch and Hall Monitors

Come see what the fuss is all about, our kids are great and you make a difference!

We loved having our VVMS parents volunteer during passing times and at lunch last year! Please, please please, keep coming in and volunteering to supervise.

We are offering work spaces for those who want to come during our passing time. This allows our parents to supervise halls during transition time but then hop back into an office to work. We're happy to accommodate!

For reference, here is the VV Daily Schedule.

Thank you!!

Working with middle school requires the right temperament. We mostly just need you to be smiley, and cheerful. We avoid practices that involve screaming or yelling. We prefer softer approaches that are kind but firm. Individuals volunteering are able to suspend bias and judgment and can offer support for all students. If you think this is you? Please help us in adding a greater eco-system like approach to how we guide and shepherd our young Hornets.

Parking for Parent Visitors

Parents and caregivers, if you are visiting Valley View please check in at the front desk and a clipboard will be provided for you to enter your vehicle information. This will prevent any boots or ticketing.

Thank You!
