VVMS in Focus
Fall Band Concert

Our VVMS Band performed in what was a spectacular kickoff. Students spotlighted their fine talents and their commitment to the art. Our Band Directors, Melody Snyder and Chris Gumz deserve so much praise for their relentless efforts.

Yay Band and we can't wait to see what's next!

¿Qué Desea Ordenar?

Students in Ms. Mattson’s Spanish class worked on their exchanges via the restaurant setting. Students did a wonderful job ordering from a menu and demonstrated strong pronunciation prowess!

Way to go!

The Vibe is Boomin!

This week our Valley View staff enjoyed the camaraderie of one another and took time to taco-bout their action research.

Our VV teachers have spent the last four weeks implementing high impact literacy strategies. This was the culminating event with food and great conversation!

Lunch and Hall Monitors

Thank you to everyone who has volunteered already! We are loving having parents and caregivers around to help supervise our young Hornets during lunch and transition times. We have already noticed an improvement in language and behavior.

We are still looking for Somali speaking, Spanish speaking, and English speaking parent volunteers, to help with supervision. Please consider signing up for a shift, dates available through winter break:

Thank you!!

**Working with middle school requires the right temperament. We mostly just need you to be smiley, and cheerful. We avoid practices that involve screaming or yelling. We prefer softer approaches that are kind but firm. Individuals volunteering are able to suspend bias and judgment and can offer support for all students. If you think this is you? Please help us in adding a greater eco-system like approach to how we guide and shepherd our young Hornets.

Organize STRIVE Classrooms

Looking for parents with great organizational skills to help organize in our STRIVE Classrooms! !

  • Week of November 13-17: Monday/Wednesday
  • Possible Time frames: 10:30 am-12:30 pm and 1:30 pm-3:30 pm

Currently, we would love if there’s someone out there that would be willing to organize our art, sensory and game cabinets.

You can check in with the teacher you are working with first to show you more specifics (Ms. Jodie or Ms. Kirsten). We have a label maker and you can label various items. We are so excited to have you at our school!
